Aquatics

Students participate in our Aquatics programs in our 12-meter hydrotherapy pool, which is heated to 34 ° C. The Aquatics program provides a safe and stimulating environment for students to relax, to increase their range of movement and flexibility, improve co-ordination and postural control. Physiotherapists are also part of the Aquatics program, providing expertise and guidance on using the aquatic environment to support students’ physical development. Students develop self-confidence, social skills and basic swimming techniques through sensory activities, games, music and the use of a range of floatation aids.

The pool is equipped with a ramp, ceiling hoist and we have modified pool chairs to facilitate the transfer of students into the pool. Our heated change rooms are equipped with ceiling hoists and height adjustable tables. Students may also participate in a dressing program with occupational therapist’s support before or after their Aquatics session.
