The Early Years Literacy Program is implemented across the Primary school in 1hour Literacy blocks. It includes the three strands of literacy - Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing. We have modified and adapted the program to suit the diverse range of students' abilities.

Teachers work collaboratively with speech pathologists and occupational therapists to design, implement and develop English objectives for each student, that are delivered within the structure of the Early Years Literacy Program. Sensory, language experience and academic approaches are used. Learning centers are used for small group and individualized instruction. Augmentative and Alternative Communication strategies, along with Information and Communication Technologies are also used to foster students' engagement with and access to Literacy programs.

The school is well resourced with a wide selection of readers, Big Books, posters, audiotapes, computer software and assistive technologies to enhance students' literacy experiences.
