Occupational therapy addresses areas of life where independence and participation have been impacted through impairment, accident or disability. It is based on the premise that human beings find fulfillment, satisfaction and quality of life through activity or occupation. Occupational therapy programs aim to empower students to access all areas of the curriculum and to be active participants in their daily lives.

OT programs seek to meet the individual needs of each student and cover such areas as activities of daily living, handwriting skills, upper limb function, sensory needs, technology access, and community life skills.

Occupational therapy services include a range of skill and activity-based assessments, the provision of specialised equipment, consultation with families and carers, as well as assessment for and the production of upper limb splints.

The Occupational Therapists work in close collaboration with other members of the school team, including other therapists, teachers and families in order to provide a holistic service that best meets the individual needs of each student.
